Not to buy a fat pig, but maybe to pick up some fresh vegetables or beautiful flowers. We go to one of the local farmer's markets nearly every Saturday. Sometimes I remember to take my camera. It is easy to miss all the great photography opportunities as you wander past the booths and look at everything. It can be a feast for all the senses. Here are a few shots I took at a couple of recent visits. Always be on the lookout for colors, different angles, and unusual subject matter.

Don't overlook faces and people when you are looking for the shot. The flowers are lovely and the colors pop but, to me, the smiling young lady makes this one.
Same thing here, but the people are in the background. The veggies are the "star" of the shot but the transaction taking place in the background adds reality and helps you realize what is going on in the picture.
Get close. Some things are much more interesting if you get close.

It's not always about flowers or vegetables. Lots of crafts are displayed at open-air markets and some of them make great shots.
Try different angles. For this one, I sat on the ground and shot up at the flowers and sign.
Sometimes just a walk around your yard, or park, or local farmer's market is all it takes to give you a ton of potential photographs and hours of joy looking at them.
